Radio today – Women’s rights activist Lisa Vetten talks about the Dept of Social Development subsidisation of social care services

Our guest was women’s rights activist Lisa Vetten, who was talking about the Dept of Social Development subsidisation of social care services and the issues it raises in terms of the Promotion of Administrative Justice Act. While attention typically focuses on the grants (like now), much less attention is paid to the services side which are being significantly eroded. Given the very high number of women employed in the social care sector the DSD’s practices also raise questions of gender equality in relation to pay.
